Spectators: 6796 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1796, VIP seats: 0) Pondersbridge's Jhalmar Meza started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victorino Zaldaña in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Humberto Flores saved Pondersbridge from getting behind. Humberto Flores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilberto Corpeño in the 12th minute of the match. Sarbelio Quijada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Augusto Velis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Augusto Velis was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jhalmar Meza showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. Pondersbridge's Sarbelio Quijada got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Victorino Zaldaña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Flores having to interfere. Abraham Santamaria's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Augusto Velis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Jhalmar Meza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Augusto Velis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Alderley Edge's Victorino Zaldaña in 38 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Humberto Flores guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. 39 minutes into the match, Pondersbridge's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Corpeño came free, but Humberto Flores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Meza in the 41st minute of play forced Pondersbridge's goalkeeper Humberto Flores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Humberto Flores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilberto Corpeño, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Jhalmar Meza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Victorino Zaldaña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 62 minutes into the game, one of Pondersbridge:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Félix Portillo hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After 67 minutes of play, Pondersbridge's Jhalmar Meza made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Augusto Velis was left in no man's land by his defense there! Victorino Zaldaña took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Humberto Flores. Humberto Flores dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. 85 minutes into the match, Pondersbridge's goal looked a bit too open when Victorino Zaldaña came free, but Humberto Flores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute, Gilberto Corpeño ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Humberto Flores was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Gilberto Corpeño could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Humberto Flores made a huge save. Victorino Zaldaña sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
