Humberto Flores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Selvin Rivas, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. During the 14th minute of the match Alejandro Pineda completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Alejandro Pineda a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Bucknell booed when Pondersbridge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejandro Pineda didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sarbelio Quijada stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Pondersbridge's zone, Selvin Rivas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Humberto Flores came out of the goal and Selvin Rivas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Pondersbridge's Humberto Flores got control of the ball when Luis Del Carmen tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Pondersbridge's Abraham Santamaria got a free kick in the 60th minute. The Bucknell supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bucknell would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
