Shrewsbury's Alberto Ocampo got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 12thth minute of the game Diego Victorino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Shrewsbury's Marcelo Pérez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Primitivo Giron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafael Ruiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Patricio Escalante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Diego Victorino sped through Shrewsbury's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcelo Pérez. Marcelo Pérez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Primitivo Giron in the 28th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 35th minute of the game. One of Tipton:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Shrewsbury:s goal. 41 minutes into the match, Shrewsbury's goal looked a bit too open when Primitivo Giron came free, but Marcelo Pérez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diego Victorino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Pérez having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Primitivo Giron ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelo Pérez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Alberto Ocampo made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Tipton's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Ruiz came free, but Patricio Escalante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th match minute, Tipton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulises Guardado to maneuver through the defense. Marcelo Pérez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Primitivo Giron in the 62nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Ruiz in the 63rd minute of play forced Tipton's goalkeeper Patricio Escalante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patricio Escalante didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Ocampo went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Primitivo Giron in the 74th minute of play forced Shrewsbury's goalkeeper Marcelo Pérez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Primitivo Giron kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Shrewsbury's Emiliano Santamaria got a free kick in the 80th minute. Diego Victorino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Alberto Ocampo came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Shrewsbury fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Ocampo couldn't finish the play. Alberto Ocampo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patricio Escalante having to interfere. Alberto Ocampo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tipton's Patricio Escalante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Ocampo in the 94th minute of play. Rudy Montes kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Rafael Villacorta took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 97th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Patricio Escalante. Tipton's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
