If Odir Talia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Abraham Braun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jose Batres's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roberto Canales made a kick off. In the 75th minute, Roberto Canales got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Murcielagos FC's Angel Hinguanzo in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Despite being the better team, Birmingham failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
