With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joselito Campos in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafael Morales saved Liss United from getting behind. Patricio Orobio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Patricio Orobio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 49 minutes had been played when some careless play by Liss United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edgar Arellano was slow to take the kick. During this time Thurnscoe United's players had a chance to rest. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alberto Alvarado was the one to do the kick off. Rafael Morales showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joselito Campos, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The supporters of Liss United booed when Thurnscoe United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Douglas Alferez didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Alfredo Guevara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joselito Campos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rafael Morales having to make a save. The Thurnscoe United supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Liss United's performance. The match ended with a win for Liss United.
