Shawn Palma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Marcelo Sigaran came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Stamford Bridge fans jumped to their feet. Stamford Bridge's Alberto Costas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shawn Palma in the 29th minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, Marcelo Sigaran cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Edwin Ancheta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Through an outstanding action, after 39 minutes, Edwin Ancheta successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a little luck, El Quetzal F.C's Edwin Ancheta got control of the ball when Marcelo Sigaran tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nicolás Figueroa might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edwin Ancheta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicolás Figueroa ran back to his position shaking his head. Edwin Ancheta made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Marcelo Sigaran sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 47 minutes, Marcelo Sigaran managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stamford Bridge's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelo Sigaran was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Shawn Palma made a kick off. Alberto Costas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shawn Palma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edwin Ancheta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo Sigaran in the 74th minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Januario Toledano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in El Quetzal F.C's zone, Nicolás Figueroa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edwin Ancheta came out of the goal and Nicolás Figueroa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alberto Costas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shawn Palma, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Stamford Bridge had won after a very even match.
