Edwin Ancheta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauricio Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After a rather tough play, El Quetzal F.C's Efrain Medrano got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind El Quetzal F.C's goalkeeper Edwin Ancheta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennys Talia in the 19th minute of play forced El Quetzal F.C's goalkeeper Edwin Ancheta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Immingham United booed when El Quetzal F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Medrano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dennys Talia struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Edwin Ancheta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Immingham United. Dennys Talia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edwin Ancheta having to interfere. Edwin Ancheta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauricio Duarte in the 30th minute of the match. Dennys Talia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edwin Ancheta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauricio Duarte in the 35th minute of play. Dennys Talia scored 0-2 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edwin Ancheta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 41 minutes into the match, Immingham United's goalkeeper Ivan Osorio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Januario Toledano. Januario Toledano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Ivan Osorio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, El Quetzal F.C's Ivan Osorio threw himself towards the right post 48 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Shawn Palma, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After the first half Immingham United were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Shawn Palma stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rdth minute of the game Dennys Talia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Quetzal F.C's Edwin Ancheta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mauricio Duarte got free with Edwin Ancheta in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ivan Osorio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Shawn Palma went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Mauricio Duarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Edwin Ancheta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennys Talia in the 72nd minute of play forced El Quetzal F.C's goalkeeper Edwin Ancheta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Dennys Talia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benji Liborio charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benji Liborio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of El Quetzal F.C booed when Immingham United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benji Liborio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 84 minutes of play Immingham United's Benji Liborio was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 85th minute, Benji Liborio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Shawn Palma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 94 minutes, Mauricio Duarte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Immingham United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mauricio Duarte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mauricio Duarte could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Edwin Ancheta made a huge save. The El Quetzal F.C supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Immingham United's performance. The match ended with a win for Immingham United.
