The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edgardo Mejia hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Villarreal in the 11th minute of play forced Derry Hill's goalkeeper Zelvin Sosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zelvin Sosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deris Martinez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 19 played minutes Halton Holegate AFC got a freekick which was hit by Josue Martinez. Deris Martinez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zelvin Sosa having to interfere. After 31 played minutes Halton Holegate AFC got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Bonilla. Zelvin Sosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deris Martinez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Deris Martinez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Zelvin Sosa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Deris Martinez's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. The supporters of Derry Hill booed when Halton Holegate AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josue Martinez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Halton Holegate AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Zelvin Sosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deris Martinez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 62 minutes in the game, Deris Martinez fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Zelvin Sosa having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Halton Holegate AFC's Alberto Villarreal dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. In the 70th minute, Edgardo Mejia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rd match minute, Halton Holegate AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Peredes to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Halton Holegate AFC's zone, Josue Espindola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emiliano Berrueta came out of the goal and Josue Espindola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Camilo Bonilla hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Zelvin Sosa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Villarreal in the 88th minute. Josue Espindola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Odir Carballo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emiliano Berrueta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Halton Holegate AFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
