Spectators: 6777 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1777, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ricardo Talia made the kick off which started today's match. Waldir Amaya showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Coreas in the 3rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Mauro Guzman managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Quetzal F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Mauro Guzman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waldir Amaya breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Victor Coreas in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Waldir Amaya prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mauro Guzman struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Waldir Amaya didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Quetzal F.C. If Dennys Najarro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Mauro Guzman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot by Patricio Rodriguez from long distance, 31 minutes into the match, got Eliseo Medina's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Mauro Guzman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When El Quetzal F.C's Victor Coreas in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hildenborough's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Coreas in the 39th minute of play forced Hildenborough's goalkeeper Waldir Amaya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. El Quetzal F.C's Victor Coreas got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 45 played minutes El Quetzal F.C got a freekick which was hit by Ovidio Nunes. After the first half El Quetzal F.C were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor Coreas was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Dennys Najarro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Eliseo Medina was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ricardo Talia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 59 minutes, Mauro Oporto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Quetzal F.C and the Hildenborough players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 59th minute, Mauro Oporto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dennys Najarro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the El Quetzal F.C defense, Ricardo Talia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eliseo Medina. The El Quetzal F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eliseo Medina should have stopped the shot. Eliseo Medina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Talia, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Jonathan Osorio charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonathan Osorio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jonathan Osorio hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute of the match Patricio Rodriguez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eliseo Medina showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Mauro Guzman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eliseo Medina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dennys Najarro in the 77th minute of play. The supporters of Hildenborough booed when El Quetzal F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Peredes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hildenborough's Waldir Amaya proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Hildenborough from getting a goal against them. In the 92nd minute Dennys Najarro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Medina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
