Swadlincote's Francisco Gallardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennys Velis in the 22nd minute of play. In the 25th match minute, Salcombe AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Contrera to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute Dennys Velis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Gallardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 28 played minutes Swadlincote got a freekick which was hit by Luis Renderos. After a defensive mix-up in Salcombe AFC's zone, Lorenzo Zaldaña stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hector Murgas came out of the goal and Lorenzo Zaldaña tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nelson Ruiz succeeded in the game's 33rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. In the 45th match minute, Salcombe AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabio Orobio to maneuver through the defense. Lorenzo Zaldaña's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Hector Murgas firmly grabbed it by the left post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Dennys Velis who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Francisco Gallardo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 81 minutes, Felipe Aguirrez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salcombe AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felipe Aguirrez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nelson Ruiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francisco Gallardo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Aguirrez in the 92nd minute of the match.
