In the 10th minute Josue Villarreal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin Barrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Edgardo Umaña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 13th minute, Julio Alfaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the match, Waterfoot's Edgardo Umaña sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edwin Barrera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ronald Figueroa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Waldir Navas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Salguero having to interfere. A collision led to Waterfoot getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Ricardo Posadas hit a great ball. Ronald Figueroas short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Richard Salguero to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Edwin Barrera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgardo Umaña, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Josue Villarreal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edgardo Umaña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edwin Barrera having to interfere. After some careless play in the Bromley defense, Edgardo Umaña kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edwin Barrera. The Bromley fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edwin Barrera should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Waterfoot booed when Bromley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaac Salguero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Waterfoot's Orlando Santana suffered a sore thigh after 42 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Gabriel Huezo charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gabriel Huezo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Josue Villarreal made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Bromley's Edwin Barrera got control of the ball when Josue Villarreal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edwin Barrera made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Josue Villarreal sent off a good shot on target. Richard Salguero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronald Figueroa, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 79th minute, one of Waterfoot:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Waterfoot.
