The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Juan Flores notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Southwold's Dagoberto Gallegos. Dagoberto Gallegos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Selvin Llorente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Southwold's Dagoberto Gallegos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Victorino in the 11th minute of play. Andrés Sandoval hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. The supporters of CSD Municipal booed when Southwold was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Moreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Southwold's Dagoberto Gallegos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Flores in the 14th minute of play. Ovidio Barrera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolás Aguirrez having to interfere. CSD Municipal's Allan Victorino got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Juan Flores came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the CSD Municipal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Flores couldn't finish the play. Roberto Del Cid sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Southwold's goalkeeper Dagoberto Gallegos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Flores in the 33rd minute of play forced Southwold's goalkeeper Dagoberto Gallegos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The nice shot from Ovidio Barrera in the 36thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Nicolás Aguirrez had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Nicolás Aguirrez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joselito Díaz in the 43rd minute of play. After 47 played minutes Southwold got a freekick which was hit by Henry Leiva. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Joselito Díaz kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 58th minute, Southwold's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Juan Flores fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. A hard shot 66 in the game by Juan Flores from a close distance when the talented Dagoberto Gallegos managed to make a qualified save. Southwold's players were relieved. In the 67th minute, Joselito Díaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 69 minutes, Selvin Llorente managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CSD Municipal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Selvin Llorente was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 76th minute by Andrés Díaz got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Andrés Sandoval had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute, Joselito Díaz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Southwold fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. If Selvin Llorente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. CSD Municipal's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Southwold had won, even though CSD Municipal had held more of the ball.
