After a rather tough play, Newhaven City's Ernesto Peña got a free kick in the 4th minute. Edgar Alvarenga kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Odir Zepeda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benjamín Rosales having to make a save. Benjamín Rosales showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamín Portillo in the 10th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, C.S.D Municipal's goalkeeper Alejandro Peña had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antonio Fornos. C.S.D Municipal's Alejandro Peña played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ovidio Sanchez in the 22nd minute of play. Richard Ruiz charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Richard Ruiz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Newhaven City booed when C.S.D Municipal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Ruiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Saul Gutierrez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newhaven City's supporters rose to their feet, but Saul Gutierrez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alejandro Peña breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Odir Zepeda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Misael García fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alejandro Peña having to interfere. Alejandro Peña made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ovidio Sanchez in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

In the 52nd minute, Felipe Sifon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Odir Zepeda in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benjamín Rosales, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in Newhaven City's zone, Benjamín Portillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamín Rosales came out of the goal and Benjamín Portillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benjamín Rosales showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Odir Zepeda in the 76th minute of the match. Odir Zepeda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 82 played minutes Newhaven City got a freekick which was hit by Benjamín Duarte. Chants of C.S.D Municipal echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Newhaven City had held the ball for most of the match.
