Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Omar Rivas took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of Holloway booed when Wootton Bassett was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dagoberto Rivera didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgardo Escobar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcelo Zaldaña's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Wootton Bassett's zone, Marcos Villacorta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgardo Escobar came out of the goal and Marcos Villacorta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jose Henriquez made in the 16th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Holloway's Shawn Orozco. Edgardo Escobar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Zaldaña, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. If Marcelo Zaldaña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shawn Orozco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgardo Escobar having to interfere. After 29 minutes of play, Holloway's Mauro Villalobos made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgardo Escobar was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 32 played minutes Holloway got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Sandoval. 46 minutes into the match, Wootton Bassett's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Villalobos came free, but Edgardo Escobar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

After 60 minutes, Jose Henriquez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wootton Bassett and the Holloway players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jose Henriquez hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After 65 minutes of play, Holloway's Mauro Villalobos made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgardo Escobar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marcelo Zaldaña in the 71stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Edgardo Escobar, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 74th minute Roberto Parada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efren Pinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the game, Marcos Villacorta recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Edgardo Escobar. Marcos Villacorta showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Holloway's Marcelo Zaldaña got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gilberto Tobar charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilberto Tobar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marcos Villacorta might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edgardo Escobar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcos Villacorta ran back to his position shaking his head. Eliseo Sandoval struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Edgardo Escobar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Holloway. The long shot by Milton Ventura in the 90th minute really tested Edgardo Escobar's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 93rd match minute, Wootton Bassett was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Parada to maneuver through the defense. Holloway's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
