In the 5th minute, Jhonnatan Carranza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Rene Lara came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Ilfracombe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rene Lara couldn't finish the play. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cóban Imperial's goalkeeper Milton Padilla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 13th minute, Jhonnatan Carranza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cóban Imperial fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. With a little luck, Ilfracombe's Jose Torres got control of the ball when Augusto Mendoza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jose Torres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnoldo Benavides, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th match minute, Cóban Imperial was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rudy Bonilla to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute, one of Cóban Imperial:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cóban Imperial. If Will Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cóban Imperial's Arnoldo Benavides in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ilfracombe's goalie prevented a goal.

55 minutes into the game, Jhonnatan Alvarado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ilfracombe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cóban Imperial the free kick. Jose Torres went to the wrong direction when Sarbelio Cerritos was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After some careless play in the Ilfracombe defense, Arnoldo Benavides kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jose Torres. The Ilfracombe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jose Torres should have stopped the shot. Arnoldo Benavides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose Torres having to interfere. Emerson Ancheta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Jose Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ilfracombe's Will Ramos got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 70th minute, Rudy Bonilla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 73 played minutes Ilfracombe got a freekick which was hit by Enrique Corpeño. When Augusto Mendoza came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Cóban Imperial fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Mendoza couldn't finish the play. 88 minutes into the match, Ilfracombe's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Mendoza came free, but Jose Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Arnoldo Benavides came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Cóban Imperial fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnoldo Benavides couldn't finish the play. During the 95th minute of the match Enrique Corpeño completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Enrique Corpeño a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Ilfracombe getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Enrique Corpeño hit a great ball. Sarbelio Cerritos's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Jose Torres - 5-1 was put on the score board in the 97th minute. Cóban Imperial's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
