The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edgardo Melendez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Portillo having to interfere. Levenshulme's Julio Alfaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Gallegos in the 10th minute of play. Alexander Gallegos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 14 minutes, Yasir Guevara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Comunicaciones FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yasir Guevara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Alfaro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yasir Guevara went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Avilio Carrillo fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Levenshulme's protests and gave Avilio Carrillo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Comunicaciones FC booed when Levenshulme was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Avilio Carrillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Levenshulme's Julio Alfaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salvador Bermudez in the 22nd minute of play. In the 28th minute, Ernesto Ancheta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute, Ivan Rivero had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Wilber Gallardo charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilber Gallardo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Comunicaciones FC's Wilber Gallardo got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 35th minute Jhonnatan Peña shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elias Portillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yasir Guevara in the 42nd minute of play forced Levenshulme's goalkeeper Julio Alfaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hugo Dubon hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After the first half Comunicaciones FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edgardo Melendez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Gabriel Valenzuela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgardo Melendez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Elias Portillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 56 minutes, Edgardo Melendez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elias Portillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgardo Melendez in the 59th minute of the match. Edgardo Melendez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Elias Portillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Gabriel Valenzuela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elias Portillo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Dubon, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 65 minutes into the match, Levenshulme's goal looked a bit too open when Yasir Guevara came free, but Julio Alfaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Primitivo Tobar kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Raúl Guzman hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. 73 minutes into the match, Comunicaciones FC's Yasir Guevara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Alfaro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Dubon in the 76th minute of play forced Comunicaciones FC's goalkeeper Elias Portillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Levenshulme getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Omar Arango hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the match, Comunicaciones FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edgardo Melendez came free, but Elias Portillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Alexander Gallegos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexander Gallegos struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Julio Alfaro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Comunicaciones FC. The Levenshulme supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Comunicaciones FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Comunicaciones FC.
