When Yasir Guevara came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Comunicaciones FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yasir Guevara couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Comunicaciones FC defense, Cesar Jimenez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elias Portillo. The Comunicaciones FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elias Portillo should have stopped the shot. Elias Portillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cesar Jimenez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cesar Jimenez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Freshwater booed when Comunicaciones FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fidel Cabrera didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cesar Jimenez in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elias Portillo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Elias Portillo made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Cesar Jimenez sent off a good shot on target. Freshwater's Cesar Jimenez got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alexander Gallegos struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Ladislao Ulloa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Comunicaciones FC. Baltazar Tobar kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Ernesto Barrera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was beautiful to see Freshwater's Edwin Navas in action when he in the 71st minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Elias Portillo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cesar Jimenez in the 76th minute. Comunicaciones FC's Yasir Guevara got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 84 minutes into the match, Comunicaciones FC's Alexander Gallegos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ladislao Ulloa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ladislao Ulloa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yasir Guevara, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute.
