If Irving Mesa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Irving Mesa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Orlando Miranda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Playa Hermosa AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Greivin Matamoros came free, but Orlando Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th match minute, Playa Hermosa AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrei Rojas to maneuver through the defense. When la Fortuna AFC's Greivin Matamoros in 41 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Orlando Miranda guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. A collision led to Playa Hermosa AFC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. After having played for 86 minutes, Nino Viquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Playa Hermosa AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nino Viquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roy Herrera during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 94th minute Hernan Parra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willie Vega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
