With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilbert Campos in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Otoniel Piedra saved Escazu FC from getting behind. Antonio Cespedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otoniel Piedra having to interfere. Dennis Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Omar Huertas, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Mikael Acuña kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Wilbert Campos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Otoniel Piedra was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Omar Huertas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Cruz having to interfere. Minor Ayala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Dennis Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antonio Cespedes in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Otoniel Piedra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Omar Huertas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Wilbert Campos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Antonio Cespedes scored 1-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Otoniel Piedra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Antonio Cespedes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dennis Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvin Morera in the 54th minute of the match. Escazu FC's Minor Ayala got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Escazu FC's Otoniel Piedra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonio Cespedes in the 62nd minute of play. Omar Huertas scored 2-1 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dennis Cruz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Keilor Bolaños's late challenge caught a Platanillo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Keilor Bolaños helped the player get up and apologised. Platanillo's Saul Osorio shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 74th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Otoniel Piedra but with some difficulty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonio Cespedes in the 85th minute of play forced Escazu FC's goalkeeper Otoniel Piedra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Omar Huertas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
