Spectators: 6792 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1792, VIP seats: 0) Golfito's Paul Guerrero started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Guido Avila came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Tres Rios FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guido Avila couldn't finish the play. After 10 played minutes Golfito got a freekick which was hit by Valentin Campos. A long shot from Dennis Sanchez in the 10th minute of play was well struck, but Adrian Flores made a really good save at the right post. Adrian Flores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruben Monge in the 12th minute of play. Ruben Monge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Flores having to interfere. The corner led Tres Rios FC's Dennis Sanchez to fire away a dangerous shot which Adrian Flores despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Rodrigo Luna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paul Guerrero in the 31st minute of the match. After having played for 34 minutes, Ruben Monge managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tres Rios FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ruben Monge was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 37 minutes into the match, Golfito's goalkeeper Adrian Flores had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guido Avila. A collision led to Tres Rios FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Nestor Montealegre hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ruben Monge stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ruben Monge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Adrian Flores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ruben Monge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 62 minutes into the match, Tres Rios FC's goalkeeper Rodrigo Luna had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Franklin Duran. Adrian Flores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruben Monge in the 63rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Tres Rios FC's Nestor Montealegre got a free kick in the 69th minute. Brian Mata kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. The supporters of Golfito booed when Tres Rios FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Montealegre didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rd minute, Ruben Monge got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Franklin Duran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Luna having to interfere. Guido Avila fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Flores having to interfere. Rodrigo Luna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paul Guerrero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tres Rios FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
