The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Carlos Chavarria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Calvo, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Andrei Hernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Berasko Sojo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. REAL ORION's Carlos Chavarria proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save REAL ORION from getting a goal against them. In the 18th minute Vicente Calvo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Chavarria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SPORTING TICO F.C.'s zone, Berasko Sojo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrei Hernandez came out of the goal and Berasko Sojo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Herberto Cantillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 27 minutes of play, REAL ORION's Berasko Sojo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andrei Hernandez was left in no man's land by his defense there! 29 minutes into the game, Alan Huertas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SPORTING TICO F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave REAL ORION the free kick. If Salvador Solis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Berasko Sojo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andrei Hernandez was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. SPORTING TICO F.C.'s Andrei Hernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Berasko Sojo in the 37th minute of play. Berasko Sojo struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Andrei Hernandez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for REAL ORION. Berasko Sojo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vicente Calvo made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Berasko Sojo in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andrei Hernandez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Andrei Hernandez made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Berasko Sojo sent off a good shot on target. Alan Huertas hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Berasko Sojo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Andrei Hernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andrei Hernandez made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Berasko Sojo sent off a good shot on target. Stanley Guadamuz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrei Hernandez having to interfere. REAL ORION's Pancho Duran was substituted for Eric Borbon. In the 64th minute, Baltazar Guevara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Chavarria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Calvo, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. REAL ORION's Berasko Sojo was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 79th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. REAL ORION made a substitution. Minor Parra replaced Stanley Guadamuz. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind SPORTING TICO F.C.'s goalkeeper Andrei Hernandez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 92nd minute, Berasko Sojo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Salvador Solis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrei Hernandez having to interfere. REAL ORION's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
