Spectators: 6797 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1797, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Baltazar Colon kicked off to start the match. A hard shot 3 in the game by Salomon Sibaja from a close distance when the talented Jesus Kamakiri managed to make a qualified save. Cartago FC's players were relieved. If Heriberto Mesa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Ciudad Colon's Hugo Volio got a free kick in the 6th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Salomon Sibaja managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ciudad Colon's supporters rose to their feet, but Salomon Sibaja was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jesus Kamakiri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 17th minute, Salomon Sibaja got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Heriberto Mesa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabio Jimenez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesus Kamakiri having to interfere. Ciudad Colon's Freddy Sirias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heriberto Mesa in the 36th minute of play. Ciudad Colon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabio Jimenez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabio Jimenez made a kick off. Salomon Sibaja recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Cartago FC booed when Ciudad Colon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejandro Hernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cartago FC's Baltazar Colon got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Ciudad Colon booed when Cartago FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso Echeverria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fello Romero, 65 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Celso Echeverria's late challenge caught a Ciudad Colon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Celso Echeverria helped the player get up and apologised. Celso Echeverria hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ciudad Colon's zone, Heriberto Mesa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freddy Sirias came out of the goal and Heriberto Mesa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Cartago FC's Baltazar Colon in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ciudad Colon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Salomon Sibaja was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Salomon Sibaja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes into the game, Baltazar Colon lined in a short shot 0-1 behind a frustrated Freddy Sirias. Baltazar Colon received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Freddy Sirias came out and tried to block the shot, but Baltazar Colon slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 92nd minute. Cartago FC played a much better game than Ciudad Colon and deserved their victory. The Ciudad Colon players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
