With an extended leg and a bit of luck Salomon Redondo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Vintilă Teodor in the 9th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Salomon Redondo kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vintilă Teodor got free with Salomon Redondo in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 17 minutes into the match, Galacticos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabricio Brenes came free, but Leopoldo Guillen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Emiliano Sancho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Salomon Redondo. That made the score 2-0 in the 20 minute of play. Galacticos FC's Vintilă Teodor got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th minute, Pedro Matute got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emiliano Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Salomon Redondo having to make a save. Salomon Redondo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jesus Ortega in the 35th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Tres Rios's Chunche Matute got a free kick in the 37th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emiliano Sancho was the one to do the kick off. Otoniel Lehman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Guillen having to interfere. Galacticos FC made a substitution. Humberto Guzman replaced Jesus Ortega.
