In the 23rd minute, Romulo Salas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Buenaventura Salas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 24th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Inocencio Guerrero's late challenge caught a Esterillos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Inocencio Guerrero helped the player get up and apologised. Inocencio Guerrero kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After 29 played minutes, Esterillos FC's Leonel Ortega shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tuto Echavarria came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Esterillos FC reached it. Miguel Segura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tuto Echavarria having to interfere. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Herberto Camacho sped through Esterillos FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Elvis Porras. Manrique Carazo kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Herberto Camacho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elvis Porras having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

After having played for 57 minutes, Inocencio Guerrero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Orosi FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inocencio Guerrero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nelson Monge kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Esterillos FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Herberto Camacho scored to the left of an out of position Elvis Porras, making the score, 0-3. In a very dangerous position, a player in Esterillos FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 73rd minute. Penalty! Elvis Porras went to the wrong direction when Buenaventura Salas was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Tuto Echavarria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelson Monge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80thth minute of the game Miguel Segura who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Orosi FC's Tuto Echavarria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Herberto Camacho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Elvis Porras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elvis Porras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inocencio Guerrero, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Esterillos FC's goalkeeper Elvis Porras, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee felt a red card was in order, 96 minutes into the game, when Leonel Ortega put in a rough tackle.
