After 3 minutes, Isidoro Leiton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CD Juventud Hatillo and the Heredia players grew even worse after the yellow card. 7 minutes into the match, Isidoro Leiton had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martin Williams. Heredia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Isidoro Leiton was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After a rather tough play, CD Juventud Hatillo's Stanley Bejarano got a free kick in the 13th minute. Heredia's Otto Sarmiento got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Isidoro Leiton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Heredia's Martin Williams played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Quiros in the 21st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Heredia's zone, Evaristo Huertas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Williams came out of the goal and Evaristo Huertas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 28 minutes into the match, Isidoro Leiton notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Heredia's Martin Williams. Martin Williams was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Martin Williams showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Leiton in the 34th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Huertas in the 37th minute of play forced Heredia's goalkeeper Martin Williams to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Evaristo Huertas in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martin Williams prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ronald Ortega came out of the goal and Alvin Solera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Isidoro Leiton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Isidoro Leiton to strike the kick off in the second half. Martin Williams stood somewhat misplaced when Rafael Quiros came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 51 minute. Martin Williams showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Quiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 61 minutes into the game, CD Juventud Hatillo's Isidoro Leiton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Martin Williams made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Martin Williams was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Evaristo Huertas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Evaristo Huertas really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. The crowd rose to their feet as Isidoro Leiton kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Martin Williams. That made the score 0-7 in the 73 minute of play. After 77 minutes, Martin Vanderlat mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Heredia and the CD Juventud Hatillo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rafael Quiros struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Martin Williams didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD Juventud Hatillo. The crowd rose to their feet as Rafael Quiros kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Martin Williams. That made the score 0-8 in the 94 minute of play.
