The Ciudad Colon FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. William Wanchope who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of Napoleon Bermudez when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Manuel Talamanca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Minor Cartin in the 19th minute of play. William Wanchope fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Napoleon Bermudez having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Baltazar Lobo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Perez Zeledon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ciudad Colon FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Perez Zeledon's Baltazar Lobo got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Manuel Talamanca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valentin Rohrmoser's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Valentin Rohrmoser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Manuel Talamanca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ciudad Colon FC's Minor Cartin got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th match minute, Perez Zeledon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrei Redondo to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes in the game, Alain Sanchez fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Napoleon Bermudez having to interfere. Manuel Talamanca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Rohrmoser, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nacho Vindas during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nacho Vindas kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Minor Cartin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ciudad Colon FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Minor Cartin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manuel Talamanca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. David Azofeifa charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Azofeifa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Alain Sanchez made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Alain Sanchez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Napoleon Bermudez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Minor Cartin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Manuel Talamanca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alain Sanchez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Valentin Rohrmoser might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manuel Talamanca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valentin Rohrmoser ran back to his position shaking his head. Minor Cartin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 80thth minute, Manuel Talamanca skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Napoleon Bermudez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Wanchope, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valentin Rohrmoser's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manuel Talamanca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Valentin Rohrmoser got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Minor Cartin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Manuel Talamanca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valentin Rohrmoser sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 93 played minutes Perez Zeledon got a freekick which was hit by Nacho Vindas. The Ciudad Colon FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
