Seating: 1809, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jaime Saborio kicked off to start the match. Michael Peralta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Otton Thome tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Jaco's Jaime Saborio slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Otton Thome. That made the score 1-0 after 12 minutes of play. Jaco's Jaime Saborio got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jaime Saborio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Otton Thome read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Otton Thome showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Saborio, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 26 minutes into the match, Escazu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Saborio came free, but Otton Thome reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Otton Thome successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jaime Saborio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Otton Thome came out and tried to block the shot, but Jaime Saborio slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 48th minute.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ulises Wanchope was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Escazu FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Javier Ortega hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the match, Escazu FC's Ulises Wanchope sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Heriberto Jarquin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Michael Peralta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otton Thome having to interfere. Otton Thome showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Peralta, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Jaco's Michael Peralta got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jaime Saborio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Escazu FC's Otton Thome played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Saborio in the 81st minute of play. Jaime Saborio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otton Thome having to interfere. Michael Peralta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Otton Thome tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 97th minute, Humberto Garro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There was no doubt that Jaco were the better team. Jaco's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
