Spectators: 6790 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1790, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Anacleto Fuentes made the kick off which started today's match. Eladio Matarrita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Palma in the 2nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leo Palma in the 9th minute of play forced Orosi FC's goalkeeper Eladio Matarrita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Eladio Peña managed to get in a good position for a shot. Orosi FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eladio Peña was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Humberto Echavarria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Orosi FC's Anacleto Fuentes got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Orosi FC's Eladio Matarrita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Orosi FC from getting a goal against them. After 27 played minutes Orosi FC got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Davila. Eladio Matarrita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Buenaventura Echeverria in the 29th minute. Eladio Peña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Echavarria having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Orosi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Palma came free, but Eladio Matarrita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Atenas's zone, Anacleto Fuentes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Humberto Echavarria came out of the goal and Anacleto Fuentes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 45 minutes, Anacleto Fuentes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Orosi FC and the Atenas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Anacleto Fuentes kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Leo Palma made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Buenaventura Echeverria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eladio Matarrita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th minute, Uriel Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Atenas's zone, Eladio Peña stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Humberto Echavarria came out of the goal and Eladio Peña tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Eladio Peña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orosi FC's Eladio Matarrita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Buenaventura Echeverria in the 63rd minute of play. Willie Leon hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Buenaventura Echeverria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Eladio Matarrita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eladio Matarrita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Buenaventura Echeverria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leo Palma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eladio Matarrita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Palma in the 73rd minute of play. Buenaventura Echeverria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Eladio Peña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Echavarria having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 94 minutes into the game, when Ronald Mesen put in a rough tackle. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Atenas were victorious despite being under pressure from Orosi FC for much of the match.
