Spectators: 6793 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1793, VIP seats: 0) Quepos's Tulio Rosales started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Darien Carvajal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Salomon Duran, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. 6 minutes into the match, Quepos's goal looked a bit too open when Salomon Duran came free, but Darien Carvajal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Maroto kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Quepos's Hernan Bejarano got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 30 played minutes Real Cartagines got a freekick which was hit by Leon Colon. Real Cartagines's Leonel Jara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Davila in the 31st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tulio Rosales during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 36th match minute, Quepos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paul Solera to maneuver through the defense. Darien Carvajal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salomon Duran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Quepos getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Hernan Bejarano hit a great ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Salomon Duran stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Salomon Duran scored 0-1 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Darien Carvajal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Real Cartagines booed when Quepos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paul Solera didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 70 minutes of play, Real Cartagines's Salomon Duran made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Darien Carvajal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Salomon Duran in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Darien Carvajal, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Salomon Duran managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Cartagines's supporters rose to their feet, but Salomon Duran was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Darien Carvajal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Salomon Duran got free with Darien Carvajal in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Real Cartagines made a substitution. Ricardo Fonseca replaced Leon Colon. A collision led to Quepos getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Paul Solera hit a great ball. After having played for 87 minutes, Salomon Duran managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Cartagines's supporters crossed their fingers, but Salomon Duran was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 89 minutes into the game, Tomas Zamora recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Darien Carvajal. Tomas Zamora showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. A collision led to Real Cartagines getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Ricardo Fonseca hit a great ball. After 98 played minutes, Quepos's Daniel Davila shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leonel Jara came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Quepos reached it. When the match was over Real Cartagines could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Quepos throughout the match.
