Oscar Viquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 37 minutes, Orlando Cordoba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 66th minute, Liberia AFC's Keilor Umaña dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. After 69 played minutes Liberia AFC got a freekick which was hit by Herberto Merino. Benito Wanchope hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. When Keilor Umaña came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Liberia AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Keilor Umaña couldn't finish the play. In the 95th minute, Keilor Umaña got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 96th match minute, Puriscal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benito Wanchope to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Keilor Umaña got free with Oscar Viquez in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
