Puriscal's Chunche Palma got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arsenio Carazo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Puriscal booed when Bijagual was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelio Matarrita didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 15 minutes of play, Puriscal's Arsenio Carazo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rodolfo Coto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bernardo Sirias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute, Bernardo Sirias fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Orlando Jarquin, passed just outside the right post. Adalberto Jimenez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Orlando Jarquin having to make a save. After 41 minutes of play, Bijagual's Darien Mesa made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Orlando Jarquin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Aurelio Matarrita kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. When Chunche Palma came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Puriscal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chunche Palma couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chunche Palma in the 48th minute of play forced Bijagual's goalkeeper Rodolfo Coto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bernardo Sirias made a kick off. After having played for 72 minutes, Chunche Palma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Puriscal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chunche Palma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rodolfo Coto was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and Arsenio Carazo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Arsenio Carazo really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Puriscal's Orlando Jarquin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darien Mesa in the 90th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Darien Mesa in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Orlando Jarquin saved Puriscal from getting behind. The Puriscal players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
