Asdrubal Sibaja received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Freddy Sancho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, Tres Rios's Kenneth Sanabria sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Freddy Sancho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alexander Villafranca charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alexander Villafranca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alexander Villafranca hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Tres Rios's Manrique Piedra got control of the ball when Irving Robles tried to sneak it across the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Jaco AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Asdrubal Sibaja came free, but Freddy Sancho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mariano Gomez in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manrique Piedra saved Tres Rios from getting behind. After 35 played minutes Jaco AFC got a freekick which was hit by Reiner Salas. Jason Soto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Irving Robles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Irving Robles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manrique Piedra having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mariano Gomez was the one to do the kick off. Manrique Piedra didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Jaco AFC's Mariano Gomez shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Tres Rios's Manrique Piedra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irving Robles in the 68th minute of play. After 69 played minutes, Tres Rios's Jose Chavarria shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Freddy Sancho came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tres Rios reached it. Kenneth Sanabria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddy Sancho having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Pepe Santamaria got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 88 played minutes Tres Rios got a freekick which was hit by Jose Chavarria. Jaco AFC were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after Tres Rios's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Alvin Murillo took the corner. Bryan Ayala kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Asdrubal Sibaja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Jaco AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Tres Rios had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
