Spectators: 6795 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1795, VIP seats: 0) Baru FC's David Mesa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olger Fallas in the 3rd minute of play. After having played for 4 minutes, Olger Fallas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Limon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olger Fallas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 10thth minute of the game Enrique Arroyo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Limon's Teodoro Ramirez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jaime Sarmiento charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jaime Sarmiento the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Freddy Arce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Baru FC's Ruben Echavarria got a free kick in the 18th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Freddy Arce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Limon's supporters rose to their feet, but Freddy Arce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. David Mesa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With an all-out effort, Baru FC's Teodoro Ramirez threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Enrique Arroyo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Enrique Arroyo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodoro Ramirez having to interfere. Irvin Barahona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 36th minute, Irvin Barahona made a precise shot to the right of Teodoro Ramirez. Limon's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Enrique Arroyo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Baru FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Enrique Arroyo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodoro Ramirez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 45 played minutes Limon got a freekick which was hit by Roy Ayala.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Enrique Arroyo was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Irvin Barahona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Baru FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Irvin Barahona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodoro Ramirez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Freddy Arce's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Mesa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Freddy Arce's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 59thth minute, David Mesa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Teodoro Ramirez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Irvin Barahona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Freddy Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roy Ayala's late challenge caught a Baru FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roy Ayala helped the player get up and apologised. In the 68th minute, Roy Ayala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Irvin Barahona struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Teodoro Ramirez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Baru FC. David Mesa was a little too slow when Olger Fallas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 1-1. After some careless play in the Limon defense, Irvin Barahona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Teodoro Ramirez. The Limon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Teodoro Ramirez should have stopped the shot. David Mesa was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Rogelio Segura. With his leg David Mesa managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when Limon's Freddy Arce fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 89 minutes, Olger Fallas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Limon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olger Fallas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. David Mesa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Freddy Arce in the 91st minute. Ernesto Heredia's late challenge caught a Baru FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernesto Heredia helped the player get up and apologised. For all the effort they put into the match, the Limon players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Baru FC.
