Mainor Vilchez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olger Fallas in the 14th minute of the match. In the 15th minute, Andrei Alfaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mainor Vilchez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Freddy Arce's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Ramon Castro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Teodoro Ramirez made a huge save. If Freddy Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Palmar AFC! In the 26th minute there was a penalty for Limon. Alvaro Vega stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Mainor Vilchez. 0-1. Ramon Castro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Teodoro Ramirez when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 33rd minute, Olger Fallas made a precise shot to the right of Mainor Vilchez. Palmar AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 36th minute Olger Fallas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mainor Vilchez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teodoro Ramirez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramon Castro in the 98th minute of play. Chants of Limon echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Palmar AFC had held the ball for most of the match.
