The supporters of Playa Hermosa FC booed when Heredia AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Naranjo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rafa Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Edwin Borbon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Celso Arrieta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edwin Borbon was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Edwin Borbon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafa Arce in the 12th minute of the match. Edwin Borbon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafa Arce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celso Arrieta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Edwin Borbon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tuto Rivas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Irvin Leiton having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Playa Hermosa FC's Leon Pineda got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 35th minute of the match, Tuto Rivas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Irvin Leiton was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After having played for 38 minutes, Fidel Palma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Heredia AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fidel Palma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Celso Arrieta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 41 played minutes Heredia AFC got a freekick which was hit by Nacho Bejarano. Edwin Borbon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rafa Arce's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. If Tuto Rivas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fidel Palma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Irvin Leiton having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rafa Arce to strike the kick off in the second half. Playa Hermosa FC's Irvin Leiton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fidel Palma in the 54th minute of play. A collision led to Heredia AFC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Nacho Bejarano hit a great ball. Mainor Ortiz was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 58th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 61st match minute, Heredia AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidro Cisneros to maneuver through the defense. When Rafa Arce came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Playa Hermosa FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafa Arce couldn't finish the play. Celso Arrieta kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Celso Arrieta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Edwin Borbon made a huge save. If Fidel Palma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Irvin Leiton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tuto Rivas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Playa Hermosa FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tuto Rivas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 85th minute, Tuto Rivas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leon Pineda during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Leon Pineda hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Fidel Palma managed to get in a good position for a shot. Heredia AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fidel Palma was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Irvin Leiton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 94th match minute, Playa Hermosa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Kamakiri to maneuver through the defense. Heredia AFC's Tuto Rivas managed to work through Playa Hermosa FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Tuto Rivas dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Playa Hermosa FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
