Turrialba's supporters rose to their feet, but Emilio Gamboa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emiliano Quiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emiliano Quiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Gamboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. One of Guacimo FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Turrialba:s goal. Felix Bonilla walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Jorge Serrano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
