Spectators: 6789 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1789, VIP seats: 0) Quepos's Vinicio Amador started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Leonel Sandi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saul Rosales in the 4th minute of the match. Andres Mesa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keylor Rosabal having to interfere. Beto Perez hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After 22 played minutes, Quepos's Valentin Kamakiri shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Keylor Rosabal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Quepos reached it. Saul Rosales's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Leonel Sandi skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 26th match minute, Quepos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Cartin to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute Andres Mesa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keylor Rosabal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vinicio Amador received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Keylor Rosabal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Tilaran's Saul Rosales sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leonel Sandi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 32ndth minute of the game Vinicio Amador who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tilaran's Keylor Rosabal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 36th minute, Jonny Figueres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Keylor Rosabal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vinicio Amador, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the match, Quepos's goalkeeper Leonel Sandi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pepe Madriz. In the 47th minute, Vinicio Amador ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Keylor Rosabal was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Saul Rosales stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Quepos defense, Saul Rosales kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonel Sandi. The Quepos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonel Sandi should have stopped the shot. Andres Mesa came free with the goalkeeper in the 64th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Keylor Rosabal could save by the left post. After 65 minutes, Vinicio Castro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quepos and the Tilaran players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Quepos's Vinicio Castro got a free kick in the 66th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Tilaran's zone, Andres Mesa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keylor Rosabal came out of the goal and Andres Mesa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Quepos's Leonel Sandi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pepe Madriz in the 84th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Pepe Madriz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonel Sandi was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Leonel Sandi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saul Rosales in the 87th minute of play. Andres Mesa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keylor Rosabal having to interfere. 95 minutes into the game, Vinicio Amador recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Keylor Rosabal. Vinicio Amador showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3.
