An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Andres Mesa got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind San Ramon's goalkeeper Chico Luna, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Andres Mesa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Quepos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. If Vinicio Amador had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute.
