Nery Castillo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Teodoro Rosabal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Oviedo having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Salomon Parra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of San Carlos booed when Herradura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johan Ulate didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nery Castillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mainor Gaitan in the 33rd minute of play. Oscar Godinez hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Ismael Carrillo charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The wind increased when Teodoro Rosabal made the kick off in the second half. Benito Oviedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodoro Rosabal in the 54th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Minor Blanco got free with Nery Castillo in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. San Carlos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mainor Gaitan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benito Oviedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johan Ulate in the 77th minute of the match. If Mainor Gaitan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Herradura! Minor Blanco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 87 minutes of play, San Carlos's Mainor Gaitan made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nery Castillo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 91st minute Freddy Sanchez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Oviedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mainor Gaitan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. San Carlos played a much better game than Herradura and deserved their victory. The Herradura players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
