The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tuto Duran stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Costa Rica national FC's goalkeeper Luis Carballo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ronald Coronado. The supporters of Escazu AFC booed when Costa Rica national FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bennie Cubero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luis Carballo was a little too slow when Oldemar Cordero got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 1-3. Oldemar Cordero's late challenge caught a Costa Rica national FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oldemar Cordero helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Escazu AFC's Oldemar Cordero got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 69th minute, Minor Porras got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 70 minutes into the match, Oldemar Cordero dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luis Carballo, 1-4. When Minor Porras came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Costa Rica national FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Minor Porras couldn't finish the play. When Michael Hernandez fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica national FC's protests and gave Michael Hernandez a yellow card for diving instead. After 98 played minutes Costa Rica national FC got a freekick which was hit by Michael Hernandez. Escazu AFC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Costa Rica national FC's much stronger midfield.
