Spectators: 6778 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1778, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Edwin Carvajal got the match started through his kick off. Abelardo Borbon hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. After 6 minutes, Israel Molina mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Los Chiles FC and the San Carlos AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 6 played minutes Los Chiles FC got a freekick which was hit by Israel Molina. Reinaldo Ramirez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodolfo Reyes in the 7th minute of the match. In the 14th minute Edwin Carvajal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reinaldo Ramirez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Murillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Rodolfo Reyes managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Carlos AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Reyes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reinaldo Ramirez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rodolfo Reyes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reinaldo Ramirez came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by San Carlos AFC's Edwin Carvajal. But to his dismay, Edwin Carvajal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Edwin Carvajal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reinaldo Ramirez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rodolfo Reyes went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bernardo Saenz to make the kick off. Reinaldo Ramirez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edwin Carvajal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. San Carlos AFC's Wilmer Orlich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Murillo in the 59th minute of play. Santiago Bolaños kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Reinaldo Ramirez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodolfo Reyes in the 62nd minute. Los Chiles FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Edwin Carvajal 63 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. In the 67th minute, David Murillo made a precise shot to the right of Wilmer Orlich. San Carlos AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. In the 74th minute, Bernardo Saenz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Los Chiles FC's zone, Rodolfo Reyes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinaldo Ramirez came out of the goal and Rodolfo Reyes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 80th minute, Edwin Carvajal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rodolfo Reyes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Reinaldo Ramirez made a huge save. Edwin Carvajal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Los Chiles FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Agustin Ulate hit a great ball. Edwin Carvajal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Reinaldo Ramirez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Santiago Bolaños kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Minor Naranjo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Reinaldo Ramirez. That made the score 2-4 in the 92 minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. San Carlos AFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
