Salomon Centeno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Salomon Centeno stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Miguel Brenes's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Playa Hermosa's Salomon Centeno proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Playa Hermosa from getting a goal against them. Israel Cortez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Playa Hermosa's Salomon Centeno got control of the ball when Bernie Alpizar tried to sneak it across the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Fabricio Cantillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Santiago Oreamuno. Bejuco AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabricio Cantillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Santiago Oreamuno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabricio Cantillo in the 65th minute.
