The audience thought a goal was coming when Israel Cortez got free with Eric Molina in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Israel Cortez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Molina having to interfere. Eric Molina stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Miguel Brenes's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Israel Cortez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miguel Brenes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Eric Molina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Santa Ana defense, Israel Cortez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eric Molina. The Santa Ana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eric Molina should have stopped the shot. 43 minutes into the game, Miguel Brenes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eric Molina. Miguel Brenes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Johnny Lara to make the kick off. Ismael Badilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 57 minutes into the match, Santa Ana's Johnny Lara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Santiago Oreamuno narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Fabian Lozano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ismael Badilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Oreamuno having to interfere. The referee showed Chunche Ayala the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Chunche Ayala hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eric Molina prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 72 minutes into the match, Santa Ana's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Brenes came free, but Eric Molina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eric Molina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Brenes in the 74th minute of the match. After 77 played minutes Bejuco AFC got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Lozano. Ismael Badilla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Santiago Oreamuno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Santa Ana booed when Bejuco AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo Arnaez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Bejuco AFC fully deserved thier win.
