Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Brenes in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henry Orozco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bejuco AFC's Santiago Oreamuno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olman Sanchez in the 30th minute of play. Rodolfo Carballo might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Santiago Oreamuno. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rodolfo Carballo ran back to his position shaking his head. Israel Cortez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Donald Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Heredia AFC's Henry Orozco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Heredia AFC from getting a goal against them. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When Israel Cortez came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Bejuco AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Israel Cortez couldn't finish the play. Heredia AFC's Henry Orozco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Brenes in the 73rd minute of play. After 85 played minutes Bejuco AFC got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Arnaez. Heredia AFC's Olman Sanchez got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 90 minutes, Guillermo Lobo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Heredia AFC and the Bejuco AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Guillermo Lobo kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Santiago Oreamuno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Carballo in the 94th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
