In the 13th minute of the match, Macho Barrantes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rene Mesen saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Virgilio Ruiz managed to get in a good position for a shot. HEREDIA 400's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgilio Ruiz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Evaristo Marin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Cobano booed when HEREDIA 400 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso Cortez didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to HEREDIA 400 getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Jonny Chaverri hit a great ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jonny Chaverri stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Evaristo Marin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonny Chaverri in the 53rd minute of the match. Virgilio Ruiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonny Chaverri showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. Inocencio Colon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. HEREDIA 400 walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
