Liga Deportiva Monteverde's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mal pais the free kick. Claudio Guevara kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Arsenio Cambronero ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dennis Sosa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 17th minute, Leonel Arias left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mal pais fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 19th minute, Arsenio Cambronero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22ndth minute of the game Arsenio Cambronero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Liga Deportiva Monteverde's Dennis Sosa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Mal pais's Alan Guardia got a free kick in the 24th minute. Arsenio Cambronero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Sosa having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Pepe Bermudez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liga Deportiva Monteverde's supporters rose to their feet, but Pepe Bermudez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leonel Arias made a kick off. Dennis Sosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Arias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ernesto Sarmiento in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Evaristo Hidalgo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 62nd match minute, Mal pais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Reyes to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute, Ernesto Sarmiento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arsenio Cambronero got free with Dennis Sosa in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dennis Sosa was a little too slow when Arsenio Cambronero got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 68th minute. The score was now 3-3. In a very dangerous position, a player in Liga Deportiva Monteverde fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 79th minute. Mal pais's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernesto Sarmiento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-5. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mal pais walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
