The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodrigo Morales got free with Angelin Arce in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Herberto Loaiza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Pinto in the 17th minute of the match. Herberto Loaiza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Artavia, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute, Berny Barboza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Leones FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After some careless play in the GALÁCTICOS FC defense, Ruben Huertas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Herberto Loaiza. The GALÁCTICOS FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Herberto Loaiza should have stopped the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Angelin Arce successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Berny Barboza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Johnny Saenz scored 1-2 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Angelin Arce, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. But to his dismay, Rodrigo Morales quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. In the 72nd minute of the match Efren Herrera sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Angelin Arce skillfully saved the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Michael Mendez during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Rodrigo Morales came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the GALÁCTICOS FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Morales couldn't finish the play.
