But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inocencio Rojas couldn't finish the play. 8 minutes into the game, Limon FC's Miguel Herrera nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pablo Marin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After a rather tough play, Bijagual AFC's Rodrigo Solera got a free kick in the 11th minute. Emilio Barboza's late challenge caught a Limon FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emilio Barboza helped the player get up and apologised. Miguel Herrera could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Pablo Marin made a huge save. After 21 minutes, Macho Hurtado made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Limon FC's Daniel Zamora tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Macho Hurtado in the 25th minute of play forced Limon FC's goalkeeper Daniel Zamora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bijagual AFC's Pablo Marin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Herrera in the 28th minute of play. Daniel Zamora made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilio Barboza in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th match minute, Limon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Inocencio Rojas to maneuver through the defense. Rodrigo Solera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the match, Limon FC's Omar Blen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pablo Marin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A hard shot 42 in the game by Miguel Herrera from a close distance when the talented Pablo Marin managed to make a qualified save. Bijagual AFC's players were relieved. Limon FC's Daniel Zamora played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Macho Hurtado in the 45th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Miguel Herrera made the kick off in the second half. 62 minutes into the match, Limon FC's goalkeeper Daniel Zamora had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Macho Hurtado. Felipe Saenz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 66th minute, Felipe Saenz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pablo Marin was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Pablo Marin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Saenz in the 69th minute of play. In the 75th minute, Nery Portuguez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pablo Marin was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Pablo Marin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mauricio Villafranca went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Inocencio Rojas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Pablo Marin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bijagual AFC's goalkeeper Pablo Marin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Felipe Saenz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pablo Marin having to make a save. There was no doubt that Limon FC were the better team. Limon FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
