Alexander Badilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alan Mata, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Nicolas Artavia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Alexander Badilla made a huge save. Bernie Flores fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexander Badilla having to interfere. 18 minutes into the game, Vinicio Aguilar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bejuco's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grecia the free kick. With his leg Alexander Badilla managed to avoid a goal in the 26thth minute, when Grecia's Bernie Flores fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Alan Mata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grecia's supporters rose to their feet, but Alan Mata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexander Badilla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anibal Bolaños hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. If Alan Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Alan Mata came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Grecia fans jumped to their feet.
