Spectators: 6622 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1110, VIP seats: 12) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Alonzo Azofeifa made the kick off which started today's match. 3 minutes into the match, Tilaran's goal looked a bit too open when Clodomiro Lozano came free, but Salomon Hurtado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abelardo Bermudez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 9 minutes into the match, Gimnastica Española's goal looked a bit too open when Alonzo Azofeifa came free, but Romulo Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Abelardo Bermudez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Tilaran defense, Clodomiro Lozano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Salomon Hurtado. The Tilaran fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Salomon Hurtado should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Gimnastica Española's Clodomiro Lozano got a free kick in the 18th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Gimnastica Española's goalkeeper Romulo Cruz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abelardo Bermudez. After 27 played minutes, Tilaran's Alexander Pineda shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Romulo Cruz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tilaran reached it. If Alonzo Azofeifa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Alonzo Azofeifa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romulo Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alonzo Azofeifa in the 42nd minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Clodomiro Lozano to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Guillermo Chinchilla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Asdrubal Peña fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gimnastica Española's protests and gave Asdrubal Peña a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Tilaran booed when Gimnastica Española was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Asdrubal Peña didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Tilaran's Alonzo Azofeifa, in the 58th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Tilaran. Gimnastica Española's Romulo Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abelardo Bermudez in the 59th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Angelin Mesen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Gimnastica Española's zone, Abelardo Bermudez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romulo Cruz came out of the goal and Abelardo Bermudez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Otoniel Rosales blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Salomon Hurtado having to make a save. If Clodomiro Lozano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, Pancho Arnaez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 68th minute, Clodomiro Lozano fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Salomon Hurtado, passed just outside the right post. After a rather tough play, Tilaran's Jesus Vega got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 76th minute, Pancho Arnaez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Otoniel Rosales sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Otoniel Rosales fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Salomon Hurtado having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Abelardo Bermudez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Gimnastica Española getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Cesar Carazo hit a great ball. Alonzo Azofeifa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tilaran's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
